New Metal Guardrail Construction Happening in Pismo Beach

Author: Public Works
Date: 6/17/2021 10:20 AM

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin replacing existing guardrail an unincorporated area north of Pismo Beach along Price Canyon Road.

The existing guardrail is currently supported by wood posts with heights below current State and Federal guidelines. Replacing the old guardrail with new metal support posts and guardrail at the appropriate height will increase safety for the traveling public. Work is tentatively scheduled to start June 21, 2021 and conclude in early July.

This project will replace existing guardrail along Price Canyon Road starting 1-1/4 miles north of US 101 to Thousand Hills Road.

For the safety of the public and workers, traffic will be reduced to one-way travel with flagging. Delays of up to 10 minutes can be expected. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans and consider alternative routes. Please refer to the attached map for the project locations.

Taylor Jane Construction LP of Nipomo, CA has been awarded the contract for $781,368 to perform the work. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Highway Safety Improvement Program, and County Road Fund.
